Aunt Mattie's Quilt

Hi, My Aunt Mattie, Mom's eldest sibling, sent me this wonderful butterfly quilt. Isn't it great? The only thing better than a hand-made quilt is a hand-made quilt from family . :) They are such collectible treasures! Happy Knitting, Lisa Kay

Out Like A Lion

Hi, You know how they say, "In Like a Lamb, Out Like a Lion," or vice versa, with regard to March weather. Well, it seems we got the cold at the end of the month. We still braved the out of doors a bit, today, and Mitchell blew some bubbles. He's starting to get the hang of it, but he ended up with soap all down the front of his jacket. Ah, well, one step at a time! Happy Knitting, Lisa Kay

Digital Scrapbooking

Hi, Just for fun, here's a sample of a digital page from last year. I haven't started this year's book, yet. I'm planning to use a more graphic style this year. Last year, I used a "like paper" style (with paper cutouts and clips and shadows, etc.). The papers and elements I used for the whole book last year, including the page above, are from the "Vintage Artistry" kit, available for free download at ScrapbookBytes.com. Happy Knitting (and Scrapbooking), Lisa Kay

Posey #2

Hi, I finished the second Posey, today. I only had one for the pattern pictures. I didn't even decide to do it until Christmas break started, and then I just barely got one done in time to submit the pattern by the due date the first week of January. Anyway, I at least have a pair, now. (Not sure I'm the first one!) Happy Knitting, Lisa Kay

Easter Snow

Hi! What's up with THIS? Happy Knitting, Lisa Kay

CPH Fronts Done

Hi, I completed and blocked the fronts, yesterday. They look a bit different... should have alternated skeins. Happy Knitting! Lisa Kay

Gpa E's Birthday

Hi! Grandpa had a birthday this week, and Mitchell ate cake for the first time. He also enjoyed Bobby's custard with us on Sunday (raspberry concrete). He's finally learning what's good! (Now, if he would just eat something besides bacon, pancakes, and chicken poppers... and cake and ice cream.) Happy Knitting! Lisa Kay

I'm An After

Hi! In addition to Posey going up on Knitty , yesterday, it was also a special day in another way. I had a WeightWatchers meeting, and I weighed in under my goal weight for the first time. I've lost 103 pounds (20 on my own, and then 83 more on WW). Here's the data: Before: After: Happy Knitting! Lisa Kay

Posey!

Hi! Posey is up! The Spring issue of Knitty went live today, as hinted. I'm very excited! Happy Knitting! Lisa Kay

Daddy, I Got A T'actor!

Hi! Mitchell excitedly told his daddy that he got a tractor! Gpa E brought Mitchell a John Deere. Gpa had been scouring the internet for such a tractor, and he finally got one. He drove up to Springfield to pick it up, and delivered it to our little man on Sunday. Mitchell climbed on (somewhat awkwardly the first time!) and proceeded to stack flower-bed rocks on it. He can't reach the pedals, yet, but I'm sure he'll be tooling around on it in no time! Happy Knitting! Lisa Kay P.S. The editor has hinted that the Spring Knitty will be posted, tomorrow! :)

CPH Back Done!

Hi! I finished the CPH back this morning, and it is blocking. I couldn't wait to take pictures... it isn't dry, yet. I used short row shoulders, and the shoulders and neck are temporarily bound off with scrap yarn. I'll use three-needle bind-off later. In the left side of the picture, the two strands coming off the arm-hole show where I joined a new ball of yarn. I alternated yarns between the ends. I'll weave them into the seam. Happy Knitting! Lisa Kay

First Bubbles of 2008

Hi, Today gave us our first taste of spring. Birds sang in the early morning, we saw our first robins of the year, and we went to the park. We also got out the bubbles for the first time of the season. I'm sure we'll still have some winter weather, but it was a nice break! Happy Knitting! Lisa Kay
